Welcome to the Solid State Physics Section.

The Section of Solid State Physics was established in 1983 when the Department of Physics was first divided into Sections.  Its central focus of study is on the microscopic and macroscopic properties of matter.  It is, nevertheless, dynamically expanding to collaborate with other disciplines within science and technology, such as Chemistry, Biology, Geology, Medicine, Mathematics, Informatics, Microelectronics and Nanotechnology.

Integrated parts of the Solid State Physics Section are the Laboratory of Mechanical Engineering and Design, the Laboratory of Solid State Physics and the Solid Earth Physics Institute.

The Solid State Physics Section offices and laboratory units are located on the first two floors of the Physics building shown in the photo below at the  Zografos university campus.
