Welcome to the Condensed Matter Physics Section.

The Section of Condensed Matter Physics was established in 1983 when the Department of Physics was first divided into Sections.  Its central focus of study is on the microscopic and macroscopic properties of matter.  It is, nevertheless, dynamically expanding to collaborate with other disciplines within science and technology, such as Chemistry, Biology, Geology, Medicine, Mathematics, Informatics, Microelectronics and Nanotechnology.

Integrated parts of the Condensed Matter Physics Section are the Laboratory of Solid State Physics and the Solid Earth Physics Institute.

The Condensed Matter Physics Section offices and laboratory units are located on the first two floors of the Physics building shown in the photo below at the  Zografos university campus.
